Loot from Japan

Loot from Japan

As you all know we recently came back from Japan. And of course, being that we are huge massive otakus, we brought back a good amount of figures and anime goods from our trip.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 14

Technically this is not the last day but I don’t plan on writing about how we woke up and packed and went to an airport… Also, sorry this was done so freaking late! When we got back to Calgary we were just freaking wiped.  Today for the last day we actually did do a few things, we were planning on just relaxing and playing some PS3 and maybe Akiba one more time but Brent brought up we had not gone to Tokyo tower yet so we arranged for him to meet us at the hotel in the morning and we would do that.  Also Scott was going to meet up with us one last time in Akiba! Here is some random shots of us heading towards there.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 13

Day 13, for once I am writing this before bed, we have a busy day tomorrow; we are going to try to go to Tokyo Tower and then meet back up with Scott.  Today however, it was an interesting day.  We finally got to go to the One Piece art exhibit.  It was…. Pretty goddamn awesome.  Sadly as was expected, pictures were no allowed.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 12

Day 12 is here; wow it’s already been this long? It does not really feel like it to me for some reason.  Only 2 more days till we leave to come back.  Well today is a day I have been looking forward to, we get to go see the giant Gundam.  Originally I was under the impression that it was not going to be ready, or whatever they were doing with it.  I thought this was weird because I could have sworn they had it built already some time ago.  Regardless we had to be there by 12 and we know all too well that it can take us some time to actually get around to places we have never been to so we left as soon as we did the post.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 11

Well I still do not have bronchitis yet and my throat is not as sore today as it used to be so I think I might have beaten this thing, only time shall tell.  Anyways, average morning for us, we slept in because I wanted to see if I could kick this cold, we did not have to leave for our first stop for a while anyways, it was one of those “show up between 12 and 5” things.  First stop of the day? Studio Ghibli.  It was pretty far from where we were but nothing that we have not done before, about 30 min on some trains and we were out at the station we needed to be at.  The question was, there is a bus we are supposed to take to get there.  We managed to find a ticket booth for the bus and we were PRETTY sure we had to stand here and wait for it, the only question left was, what bus we took….. We didn’t have to wait long…

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 10

Well today turned out to be a lot more interesting than I thought it would be!  I sort of forgot that we were going to meet up with Scott from Flutterscape today and when Dani reminded me in the morning I was definitely more excited than before.  The morning was typical for us, however we did sleep in hella late again, probably till about 11ish, come to think of it, we did that again today but I’m starting to get super sick so that’s why.  So we woke up with a goal today, off to Akihabara in search of more rare figurines that cost 300+ dollars for super cheap! Off we go!

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 9

Well yesterday was our last day in Osaka.  We really did have a pretty good time in Osaka, it was sort of an in between feel between super traditional Kyoto and super advanced and modern Tokyo.  A nice middle grounds if you will.  If/when we ever get back to Japan, I could see us spending a lot more time in Osaka.  So we decided to sleep in that day since we knew it was a super boring time ahead of us on the train back to Tokyo.  Dani snapped a few random pictures from the window, nothing super special, that Panasonic building was pretty trippy.  It’s crazy that there is more Shinkansen trains then there is Calgary  C-trains….

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 8

Well we did not do a hell of a lot today, so I am going to keep it a little short and sweet.  We need to check out of our hotel in Osaka in less than 2 hours here and head back to Tokyo, which I am super excited about.  I have come to the conclusion that the biggest and most exciting thing for me in Japan is Akihabara.  So I’m pretty sure we will be spending MOST of our time there.  We still have the One Piece exhibit to look forward to, as well as the giant Gundam and the Studio Ghibli exhibit.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 7

Holy crap we slept in a lot today.  The bed here at the Hilton is so big and soft and warm and amazing that we actually stayed in bed semi-sleeping for 13 hours.  Well if we still had any jet lag left we sure as hell didn’t have that problem after that.  I suppose it wasn’t really that we slept in; it was more that we went to bed at 8pm the night before and got out of bed closer to 11 the next day.  REGARDLESS! Great sleep!  Today we planned to go to the Osaka aquarium, I personally was not super stoked for this because it’s not really my thing but I had a great time.

Nyaa Figurines – Japan – Day 6

Well its morning again, turns out the world wasn’t taken over by killer bees so that’s good.  Yesterday was our last day in Kyoto so we had to wake up and go check out of our hotel semi early.  Had breakfast and all that jazz and said goodbye to our traditional Japanese hotel to leave for Osaka in favor of our normal modern hotel.
